Arvizu Scholarship

For the past 31 years, the Arvizu Family has given minority students over $600,000 in college scholarships.

Ray Arvizu was a member of Grand Canyon 1978 Men’s Basketball National Championship Team. His parents, stressed the importance and being the first in the family to receive a degree. They wanted him to be an example to the community and family.

Ray got his degree and shortly after signed the largest pro basketball contract in Mexico. After Ray’s successful basketball career he returned, and was successful in both nonprofit and corporate America.

“My time at GCU was an incredible time for my family, and I it impacted all of us, and became a major part of my life. We are honored to assist Hispanic and minority students in pursuit of their degrees and schooling through the Arvizu Scholarship.”

I would really like to thank the Arvizu Foundation for the scholarship. I received it my freshman year and then getting that match helped out tremendously. So they have always been a great supporter since the beginning of my college journey. So big thank you for the Arvizu Foundation”
